The greenward between the Estate and the beach is owned by Arun District Council and leased to us.
We organise a contractor to mow the greensward regularly over the growing season, and the costs of this are included in the annual Estate charges.
The residents on the South side of Coastal Road own an extent of the greensward beyond their dwelling boundaries. Our preference is that they join in our collective mowing scheme, as it is more cost effective (to them and us) to mow the whole area. There is, however, an option for these residents to opt out. Some exercise this option, often as they prefer the appearance of wild flowers.
We ask these residents to decide on the option they prefer each year.
